With a change in leadership at Taoroa School in 2021, our tamariki, staff, whānau and local community have embarked on a journey of discovery about the rich history of our local area and school. This year we hosted a community hui to share stories, learn about our history (pre European settler and post) and look to the future of our school and community as one. As a result of this we have established a new strategic plan which reflects the dreams and aspirations of our community.

Our goal is to create a vibrant kura environment that represents our vision, values, iwi and community and aim to create a confident kura that engages in inspiring projects that are unique to Taoroa. Research has shown that strong relationships between schools, families, and community members can positively affect student achievement and outcomes. It is also a fantastic way to connect with other families and community members. When schools and community work together to support learning, everyone benefits.
